San Diego Floods
2024
Early 2024 brought a series of powerful atmospheric rivers to southern California. The arid desert climate is accustomed to dealing with wildfires, earthquakes, and drought. Water of that magnitude was not something they were fully prepared for. the City of San Diego and adjacent communities like National City found themselves with up to 8-feet of flood water in low areas. It carried cars away and swept through homes bringing debris along for the ride. Stunned families tried to recover as much as they could and disaster response organization helped begin the process of recovery.
