The effects of a hurricane are devastating anywhere. They are particularly devastating in places where the population lacks access to safety and recovery resources. Hurricane Eta made landfall in early November and created massive challenges. But, what made November of 2020 tragic was the double punch of hurricane Iota just 2-weeks later. Iota arrived before proper recovery from Eta could even begin. To add to the situation, Honduras, and the world, were battling the Covid-19 pandemic. The pandemic severely affected the aid response. Jamie traveled with a Water Hygiene and Sanitation  (WASH) team to the north coast to train local groups on the use of water filtration systems and to distribute them to local populations.
